Material Handling & Charity

According to DC Velocity magazine, despite fluctuations in the economy this year, many material handling and logistics companies are giving back to non-profits by not only donating monetarily but giving their time as well.

At Applied Energy Solutions we feel it is a part of our mission to help give back to our community, our troops and more. This year we have helped Bivona Child Advocacy Center, The Open Door Mission, Petra Place Counseling, The United Way and the Boy Scouts of America. Some of our employees have hosted cancer walks this year, as well as provided Rotary Camps for youth in our community. Employee Howie Green, and his family help run the Genesee Valley Rotary Camp which serves children and young adults with special needs. The camp allows them to participate in various activities like hiking and swimming and accommodates to all of their physical, dietary and emotional needs with a nurse on staff and pediatrician. When asked why he participates Green says,”If you know a miracle is going to happen wouldn’t you want to be there? This is the hardest most fun and fulfilling week of the year!” This year Applied Energy Solutions provided Snuggies for all of the GVRC campers. For more information about the GRVC, please visit http://www.gvrc.org/a/

A little Snuggie goes a long way…

In addition to our work with the GVRC, part of our mission to give back is focused on helping the troops. During our trade show ProMat 2013 (Jan 21-24) at our Made in America booth #972, we kick off our online campaign for the Wounded Warriors Project through our Rally for the Troops page.

Some of the other notable companies dedicated to supporting non-profits are:

Toyota Material Handling U.S.A. Inc. (TMHU) sponsored free inspections of child safety seats and booster seats in cooperation with safety technicians and trained volunteers from SafetyBeltSafe U.S.A.

FedEx Express delivered an orphaned sea otter from Alaska to its new home at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. The pup made the journey from Anchorage to Pittsburgh on a FedEx Express MD11 aircraft, accompanied by representatives from the zoo’s marine mammal staff and a veterinarian from the Alaska SeaLife Center.

enVista sent a group of employees and a van full of donated supplies to Southern Indiana to help with volunteer efforts after deadly tornadoes ripped through the area in February and March. The group worked with Metro United Way, clearing debris and salvaging wood at three disaster sites.

ProMat Booth #972

Caledonia, New York, Dec 12. 2012 — Applied Energy Solutions (www.appliedenergysol.com) developed their first battery information transmitter in 2006 for the Bronco™ SCR battery charger. Today, they have released a new redesigned, faster and more efficient battery information transmitting device. The new BIT™ monitors battery performance, health, and alerts the user of adverse operating conditions over the entire battery life. This product works with wireless RF communication to transmit data to an easy to use graphical interface that allows the user to detect patterns, identify problems, and to convert data into ready to use spreadsheets.

The BIT is manufactured for all material handling environments with a rugged case construction to resist impact, water and electrolyte spills and its small size will not interfere with battery watering, removal, or lid closure by fitting between inter-cell connectors.

The BIT™ logs critical parameters including:

  • Voltage
  • AH
  • Electrolyte level
  • Temperature
  • Total throughput

The web based version of the device can alarm the user by email and text if the battery in use is under or over voltage, needs to be watered, is overheated or is over or under current ranges. The BIT™ will be displayed during ProMat 2013 at the Applied Energy Solutions booth #972.

Applied Energy Solutions manufactures industrial battery chargers for forklifts, pallet jacks and other battery powered transportation equipment.  AES makes all products in the USA from design, manufacturing and sub- assemblies to interconnect and final assembly. With a full product offering for every application, AES specializes in fitting the proper battery charger for the application need.  Applied Energy Solutions manufactures products for high frequency charging, cold storage, rapid charging, opportunity and multiple-shift charging.
